Three Generations,
One Recipe Book
It started in a small kitchen in Mexico City, where Abuela Rosa kept a leather-bound notebook of flavors her mother had taught her. Every Sunday, the neighborhood children would line up at her window for a taste of something they'd never found anywhere else.
When her daughter moved to Chicago in 1985, that notebook came with her. What began as a single cart on 71st Street — a handful of flavors, a freezer, and a dream — has grown into a neighborhood institution that three generations now call home.
Today, you'll find the same recipes, the same attention to detail, and the same warm welcome. The only thing that's changed is the line out the door.
